Microwave Leakage Testing

250 Rio provides microwave leakage testing to complement our Portable Appliance Testing. Microwave leakage testing can be carried out at the same time as PAT testing or separately.

Microwave testing ensures that the levels of radiation emitted from your microwave oven are within the recommended limits. The radiation limit set by the regulations is 5 milliwatts per square cm at approximately 2 inches from above the oven. After a period of time, the door seals on your microwave can become faulty, causing microwave leakage levels to exceed the recommended limit. We also check the power output and the safety interlock switches to ensure that the microwave oven is safe to be used.

We use the latest microwave leakage testing equipment to ensure that your microwave ovens are operating in accordance with:

  • *BS EN 60335-2-25 2002 Requirements for Microwave Ovens
  • *The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  • *The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
  • As with our PAT testing you will receive a certificate for documentation of the test.
